MEMBERSHIP

As the largest student-led political organization at UT Austin, we have various opportunities for members to get involved in local and state politics.

By joining University Democrats, members have the chance to meet their elected officials, find internships, and get involved in our mentorship program. As a student organization, we also have plenty of social and service opportunities. We host food drives, volunteer at shelters, and host profit shares for local nonprofits, as well as go to movies, have picnics, and make lifelong friends. Members of UDems come from various backgrounds and majors and are interested in different aspects of the political scene. As a member, any student has the flexibility to find what parts of University Democrats work for and interest them the most.

It's really simple to get involved in University Democrats. All students are welcome to attend our general meetings, every Wednesday at 8 PM in BUR 108. Paying dues is not required for students to participate. To become an active member of UDems, simply pay dues ($5/semester). By paying dues, you're able to participate in our club elections for endorsements and officers as well as list your involvement with us on your resume

Caucuses

Our caucuses are smaller, focused groups within University Democrats (UDems) that concentrate on specific identity groups or issues. These caucuses provide a platform for members to connect with others who share similar interests or concerns. They offer
opportunities to engage in specialized discussions, advocacy, and activities tailored to particular topics or communities. Joining a caucus is a great way to get involved, meet like-minded individuals, and access exclusive events and resources. The structure of UDems' caucuses is similar to that of the Texas Democratic Party and the Democratic National
Committee, emphasizing the importance of diverse voices within the larger organization.
